Great Scottish Run: Glasgow Half Marathon

2:00:44 – 4407th

Phew! I really, really hurt. This is the first half marathon that I have ever done. Good experience though – next time I’ll break 2 hours!

Glasgow Sunset

A quick timelapse of the sunset last night, taken from my new flat:

Running and FX Camera

I like running as it calms you down and lets you get to know the area you run in a bit better. I am lucky enough to live near the River Kelvin and Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow. The area can look stunning around sunset.

I went for a short 5km run this evening, and took a few photos on my phone at the top of Kelvingrove.

I have been trying out FX Camera app for Android. It applies filters to the camera to make it look like a polaroid, ‘toy camera’ or a fish-eye lens. It’s a good (and free) download from the Android Market.

Running up the hill

Just back from the second conditioning session from following the Army Fit programme. Today was sprints – up a hill in Kelvingrove Park. A bit different to the normal run – highlighting yet again how unfit I am. I can run a reasonable distance without too much pain – but too fast and I feel like collapsing.

The half marathon is only a month away – so I need to get some miles under my belt in the next two weeks. I need to run a couple of 10k and perhaps one 15k.

Walking back through Kelvinbridge I took a couple of photos on my phone – its an on-and-off rainy day – but it’s cleared up for the evening.

Photos across the Clyde

Went for a quick stroll down to Govan to take some photos across the Clyde. The new Transport Museum building looks pretty good. Here are a few photos, and a quick video.
